This semester in Humanities and Inquiry, we have been working on Market Day. Everyone in year 8 has a different store to run and has been working really hard on it. On Market Day my group is doing squishies, stress balls and splat balls. We are hoping it will appeal to younger kids and/or the MY campus’ younger siblings. We are working really well as a group and putting all our time and effort into this project.

This semester in year 8 humanities and inquiry we did a project called $20 boss where we got $20 each and had to build a business in small groups. Our group sold homemade bracelets and they took a long time to make. We had to do many tasks to build up our businesses such as; advertising, business planning and even surveying. Now we are working on the 2018 Market Day. We are creating a stall in small groups our group is doing rainbow hairspray. We are hoping to succeed in our market day stall! Over all, Inquiry and Humanities has been an enjoyable experience for all year 8’s this semester.

This term for Humanities and Inquiry, we did $20 boss. For this subject we got into groups and each group received $20 which we used to start a business. My group made Fruit Salad Bowls and Jordan’s group made Colourful Pancakes. We completed many tasks such as creating business plans, making advertisements and surveying.  We learned about customer service and how to be an entrepreneur. Now we are working on a project called Market Day where we create a business and sell things on Early Years. My group is doing a sausage sizzle and Jordan’s group are selling show bags.

In Year 8 this semester we started working on a program called 20 Dollar Boss. The premise was to run a business with $20. If we were in a group we all get $20 and with that money we start a business. We then ran our business for a couple of weeks. My group ran a raffle and some mini games. It was really fun and helped us with what we have to do for Market Day. It was pretty much a practice market day. Some groups didn’t get their businesses up and running but that’s ok because it helped them to have successful businesses for Market Day.
