MINDFULNESS PROGRAMS and

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED READING FOR ALL PARENTS

In recent weeks the College has invested time and resources into implementing a 'Mindfulness' program, "PEACEFUL KIDS", which is directed at our Years 5 and 6 students in an effort to assist them to keep calm and in control of their emotions, especially during stressful moments in their lives.

This afternoon Year 6 Mindfulness students received a seedling plant to take home.  This seedling was given to them as part of the nurturing metaphor of the Mindfulness program, as each boy is expected to care and look after their plant so that it eventually produces a flower (Marigold seedling) later in the program.

I recently came across this helpful reading about the brain which I believe communicates several salient points about key habits that we should ALL adopt in our effort to promote positive mental health and wellbeing for our families!
