Remembrance Day Ceremony at the College
11TH NOVEMBER 2016
On Wednesday 11th November the College conducted a very moving memorial service in the Junior School playground. It was a significant and poignant Remembrance Service and the students engaged exceptionally well. Mr Pat Rogers gave the Occasional Address which was well received by everyone, including our special guests - Mrs Ela Taranto, Mr David Bradley, Mrs Kath Burns, Mrs Mary Cantrall and her daughter Anne Maree Beltran, Mr Phil Chaplin, Mr Jim Fitzgerald and Mr Ted Meyer .

College Vice Captain Daniel Butler and the Years 7–9 House Vice Captains, accompanied by Mr Sean Brannan, represented the College at the Chatswood RSL Garden of Remembrance Ceremony last Friday at 11am. Please see Mr Brannan's report in the Student Matters section of this newsletter.
Nikita Papastamatis, a Year 10 student of the College who recently visited the Western Front Battlefields on a scholarship tour with the Australian Veterans' Affairs Delegation, was selected to read at the official Remembrance Day Ceremony at the Cenotaph in Martin Place, Sydney. By all accounts Nikita was a most impressive ambassador of the College and read 'Flanders Fields' with a great sense of occasion.
REST IN PEACE: Phil Brady
Our prayers are with the family of Phil Brady, Class of 1960, who passed away last week. Many would have seen Phil in his wheelchair at Rugby matches and Old Boys’ functions. May he rest in peace.
