Parenting Tip

As the world increases in complexity, seems to be speeding up, and (especially in the holiday season) there is an overwhelming focus on commercialism and materialism, many families long for simpler times, reminiscing of Christmas traditions that focus on relationships and faith.
The truth is that these are the “good ol' days!” Just a few short years from now our children and families will look back on this holiday season. What will they remember? What emotions and nostalgia will your family traditions incite? While the most impacting and memorable family events are often simple to execute, beginning or continuing traditions requires an intentional approach. This year we can make the decision that despite chaos and distractions of the season, it’s our family and relationships that matter most. Trust us, kids will not remember what video game or gadget they were playing or the movie that they were watching on DVD (unless that is, you’re doing it together and that becomes your tradition). They will remember time spent together and the interaction of a loving family gathering.
