Primary Sport 

Year 3-6 Sport

Over the next 3 weeks’ students from Year 3-6 will continue class rotations through a variety of activities for sport. As part of the rotation each week, one class will be going Ten Pin Bowling at ‘Shake, Rattle and Roll’ and another will be heading to the Indoor Centre or King Fit while the other 6 classes will stay at school and participate in basketball, touch, indoor hockey, sofcrosse, cricket or tee ball. This week 3/4W will go to King Fit ($3.50) and 5/6G Ten Pin ($8.30)

 

Diocesan Winter Trials

Over the next week Senior Primary students will trial for Netball, Soccer, Hockey and League. These trials are for individuals and are not for school teams. Only 5-6 students are selected for each sport. If students are selected at a school level they must be available to go to Diocesan Trials on 22 March in Tamworth and then if gaining further selection, Polding Trials in Tamworth on 3 May. If your child is selected at the school level, they would of received a note this week.

Upcoming Sporting Competitions and Trials in Term 2 

The following trials and competitions will be offered to Year 3-6 students in Term 2: 

* Gala Day - League, Soccer, Netball (Junior & Senior) 24/5/19 From this competition, if the Senior League are Diocesan champions they have the opportunity to advance further

* Cross Country (Junior & Senior) - 17/5/19

* Legend's of League - date TBC

* Diocesan Rugby Trials & Knockout Day, Tamworth (Seniors only) - 21/6/19 From this if the team is Diocesan Champions they have the opportunity to advance further. This also involves individual selections of students for the Armidale team, who will go onto play in Forbes on 1/07/18

Secondary Sport

School Sport

Sport for the remainder of the term will be the Secondary house competition with students participating in a rotation of different activities and games each week. Students are reminded to bring a hat and water bottle. After the third week of games the leader board is as follows: Marks 953, Leos 922, Johns 887, Pauls 642.

 

Diocesan Rugby League

Congratulations to Thomas Young, Will Apthorpe, Jake House and Cory McLelland who were selected in the U15’s Armidale Diocesan Rugby League team. They will now play against teams from the Lismore Diocese early next week in Lismore.

 

Super 9’s Rugby League

Good luck to the U14’s and U16’s Rugby League teams playing in the Inverell & District Super 9’s day tomorrow at Kamilaroi Oval Inverell.

 

Diocesan Swimming Selections

Good luck to the following students who are attending the Armidale Diocesan Swimming Selections in Gunnedah on Thursday: Prue Black, Jock Hollis, Isaac Hutchings, Clay Adams, Hannah Ditchfield, Chelsea Kerr and Sophie Mijic.
