Vision for Learning

2019 Achievements

The end of the year is a time when we can reflect on the year itself and our own individual achievements.  I encourage all students to take time to reflect on the year that was. Some students would have received awards for achievement, application, for service, for their involvement in sporting teams and in other extra curricular teams. These awards represent their hard work in a particular area. Very rarely are these awards not accompanied by significant effort. At Endeavour College the efforts of students are recognised in many ways, ranging from individual teacher comments in a classroom, to more formal awards. All of this recognition is not just recognition of a student's effort, but recognition of their utilisation of their God-given skills and talents. Every person is a loved and precious child of God, each with their own unique gifts and talents. Part of being at this College is encouraging students to find and build on the talents and gifts they have been given.

There are a great number of students who will not receive formal awards, but they may have improved the standard of their work threefold. They may have increased their writing ability, stacked their chairs after using them at recess or said thank you to someone who helped them. They may have made sure a lost Year 7 student knew where their classroom was, alerted Student Services to someone who was sick, carried books for a friend who was on crutches, opened a door for someone, ensured that every day they wore their uniform proudly and well, or showed great sportsmanship on a basketball court. They may have included someone in their prac group who did not have one, helped another student with their homework, stopped a  student bullying another, ensured that they were ready to learn every lesson, or brought a handball for everyone to use at break times. These are all things that have happened this year. Maybe students, you can recognise yourself in this list! In all of these cases too, students are using their God given gifts and abilities in this community.

I would like to recognise every student who has worked to share and develop the gifts they have been given in the service of this community, these are the actions on which your College is built - it is the Endeavour Way in action.

Well done to you all and every blessing for a safe and restful break.
