Sport Report
Congratulations to all the students who participated in Sport at Endeavour College in 2019, engaging in good spirited competition, while demonstrating both courage and determination. Thank you to parents, coaches, and umpires for investing their time and expertise into the College’s sporting program. We look forward to 2020 with the hope of further success for our students and their sporting achievements here at Endeavour College.
The 2020 Sports Calendar starts early in Term 1 with the College Swimming Carnival to be held on Monday 10 February (Week 3) at the Adelaide Aquatic Centre in North Adelaide. The day will include a number of competitive swimming events and novelty games for students to earn points for their Village. Students are encouraged to dress up in their Village colours and embrace the Village spirit of the day. The aquatic centre requests students not to colour their hair or use crepe paper in their decorations.
The College Athletics Carnival will also be held in Term 1 at the SA Athletics Stadium on Wednesday 19 February (Week 4). Students are encouraged to dress up in Village colours for this event also. Students will need to complete the online nomination form for both events; this was emailed to them during Care Group in Week 8. The nomination forms allow students to enter as many events as they would like and also volunteer to be a student helper on the day. Students will receive Village points for their achievements in events and for being a student helper on the day. Students will have the opportunity to review their nominations in Care Group in Term 1 and make any changes, as necessary. The due date to complete this form for new and continuing students will be Monday 13 January 2020.

Year 7 State Cricket Cup
Both the Year 7 Girls and Boys teams were successful in progressing into the State championships after winning their district competitions. The state competition was held on Monday 2 December at the SACA oval in the city.
The girls' team finished in 3rd place out of the 10 state districts which is a fantastic effort. Most had signed up to the competition as non-cricketers and finished quite confident and skilled players. Imogen Healy was also lucky enough to win the best catch of the day competition.
The boys had a very successful day, winning the competition. Their final was won by an exciting margin of just 10 runs. This means, not only that they won the State competition, but they now receive tickets to a Big Bash game to make presentations to players from the Strikers team. Such a great competition and good to see such sportsmanship from our students.
A successful day of cricket overall!
Congratulations to all of the players. A big thank you to the parents and siblings who came to support our teams and to Mr Herne for his coaching and bus driving expertise.
