BROADSIDE FEMINIST FESTIVAL

Broadside; the Wheeler Centre’s inaugural feminist festival, will take place at the Melbourne Town Hall from 9-10 November 2019. The teen day for this event will be held from 10am to 5pm on Friday 8

 November, at the Wheeler Centre for Books, Writing and Ideas  (next to the State Library of Victoria).

Our full program for these events will go live on Friday 13 September, but we can tell you that our teen program is packed with some of the most interesting and inspiring feminist guests from Australia and around the world. Teens who attend will develop their creative practice and ideas through workshops and talks, and will have the chance to talk, listen and create as they engage with this line-up of incredible writers.

This event is only open to young people from public schools, and we particularly encourage students from marginalised backgrounds to apply. To apply, teens will need to submit this form (https://thewheelercentre.formstack.com/forms/teen_eoi) by 5pm Friday 6 September 2019.

This event is free for teens, and everyone who attends the day will receive:

Free transport to and from school;

Lunch and snacks for the day;

A Broadside tote bag, with all the equipment they will need for the day and more;

Tickets to the weekend program (if interested)

Please feel free to share this email with any teens you feel would benefit from the opportunity to build their confidence, shape their ideas, and learn how to use their writing and their voice to change the world.
