LIBRARY NEWS

Welcome to the Library for 2018!
All primary classes have one lesson per week in the library where we focus on reading great books and learning information literacy skills. Your child’s teacher will inform you of the day their class will attend.
Students are encouraged to regularly borrow books to take home but will need a LIBRARY BAG to ensure our books are protected and kept clean. Library bags can be bought from the Alinta Uniform Shop or children can bring along a pillowcase, environmental bag, hard plastic sleeve or non-school library bag.
Library books can be kept for one week in K-2 or two weeks in Years 3-10. If they would like to have them longer, we can easily renew them. If a book is lost or damaged (we understand that this sometimes happens!), please send a note in with your child. There may be a charge for the cost of the replacement.
Primary and Secondary students can use the library during their recess/lunch break to read, complete homework or to play board games, puzzles and cards. If they would like help selecting books or even discussing something they enjoy reading and learning about, we would love for them to visit.
Students will also have the opportunity throughout the year to purchase books with the Scholastic Book Club and participate in the Premier’s Reading Challenge and Book Week activities.
I look forward to seeing your child at the library in 2018.
