2020 Staff

Introducing . . .

We have been featuring our new staff for 2020 in il giornale. This week we would like to introduce School of Innovation Learning Mentors Sean O'Brien, Sarah Baglin and Nicole Leys and Learning Support Officer Nikea Grinter.

Sean O'Brien

I love teaching and have taught in a number of different Catholic schools over the past 15 years. Before joining this amazing college, one of my roles was Deputy Principal at St Mary's College in Seymour. Prior to my life as a teacher, I was a Victorian Policeman working both in and around Melbourne and spending around five years at Shepparton Police Station. I am married to Ingrid who is a nurse and we have two sons, Sam and Ben, who are in Years 7 and 5. I love cricket and footy and Carlton were on track to dominate this year prior to the interruption. I also love the arts, especially musical theatre, and I have both directed and performed in a number of musicals around the district.

Sarah Baglin

Hi everyone! My name is Sarah Baglin. I grew up in Shepparton attending St Mel's Primary School and Notre Dame College. While studying a Bachelor of Science, I was given the opportunity to complete a Post Graduate Diploma in Education and thought I would give this teaching thing a go! That was in 2007, so 12 years later I am still teaching and loving it. I taught in Melbourne for a few years before the country life called me home. I taught at Notre Dame from 2012 until last year when I was lucky enough to be offered a position at St Anne's. I am so excited to be a part of this school's journey and consider it a privilege to be a part of the team here. When I am not at school, I am busy renovating my house, working in the garden and spending time with my two daughters Isabel and Josie and my partner Rohan.

Oh and I am a long-suffering St Kilda supporter.

Nicole Leys

Hi, I’m Nicole Leys.  I am new to St Anne’s this year and wow, nearly everything I am doing is new!  I am enjoying the challenges, most of the time, and love all the people who work and come to learn here.  Before 2020 I was working at McGuire College as an art teacher for six years.  I have taught at Kyabram, Katunga, Canberra and Shepparton. I am married with two young adult children, Darcy and Lily.  Be patient with me as I adapt to my new learning space!

Nikea Grinter

I completed Year 12 at Notre Dame College in 2017 and  I am currently studying the Bachelor of Early Childhood and Primary Education at La Trobe University in Shepparton whilst working at St Anne’s as a Learning Support Officer. I enjoy seeing the students' smiles every day and working in partnership with the Learning Mentors and other LSOs at St Anne’s to create the most enjoyable school experience for the students. In my spare time I play netball for Katandra FNC and enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
