From the Principal

Benvenuto - Welcome
This week has certainly demonstrated for me the strength and versatility of our college
community. We have been asked to take on a task of great complexity and challenge; the
staff to provide for learning in a distance setting, the parents to support their child learning
at home and the children engaging in the most unusual way of learning we had never
imagined possible. And we are doing it – we are doing it with teamwork, we are doing it
with patience, we are doing it with love.
Each of us has our own set of challenges in this new learning environment. Staying
connected to a support network is so important, whether you are a student, a parent or a
staff member, please reach out and establish your networks and lean on them when you
need to. There are times when you will feel strong, like you are conquering the world and
there will equally be times when you just don’t feel like you can do it anymore. At these times remember also that we are part of God’s loving family. We are about to celebrate the Second Sunday of Easter, a time when we learn about how Jesus appeared to the disciples when they were locked away in a room and they were afraid. But closed doors and locked-in fears were no barriers to Jesus; he enters our hearts to bring us peace. When reflecting on this message, in the times when we doubt ourselves and what we are capable of, remember that Jesus can bring us the peace and love to help us through the difficult times.
We are still uncertain as to how this term will progress, but one thing is certain and that is
that we will continue to work to refine our practices and tweak our ways of working to
improve the experience of distance learning for our children. To do this most effectively we
would ask for your regular feedback on how things are going for your child and what could
help them to have a more positive experience. This feedback can come through to your
child’s Pastoral Group Leader, the office or myself at principal@sackialla.catholic.edu.au
