MITS Camp

Living at Lockington!

The 22 MITS students have settled into their final term here at Lockington and the past three weeks have provided several highlights. Some students have started staying at their host families for 2020, we hosted over 120 people for the family barbeque, went Go Karting, students have walked down the street on street leave and been on lots of shopping trips. Two highlights have been camping at Samaria and the Prahran versus MITS friendly football match.

Camping at Samaria

Over the Melbourne Cup long weekend 10 students stayed with friends and family while the rest packed the buses and headed for Rick and Liz’s farm in Samaria. The first day produced a considerable amount of rain but it did not dampen the spirits of the MITS campers who set up the tents without fuss. The weekend was filled with mountain bike riding, walking, dancing, yabbying and exploring the farm with plenty of marshmallows roasted on the fire. One highlight was Sam Warrior riding through the dam on his bike!

MITS vs Prahran

On the Sunday afternoon of November 10ththe MITS students and a handful of alumni students walked down to Gosch’s paddock for a friendly game of football against Mr Ryan’s Under 13 football team. The MITS students really enjoyed playing together for the first time and showed great teamwork for all four quarters against a team that has played together all year. There were many supporters and keen onlookers associated with MITS and Prahran as well as interested members of the general public. Everyone enjoyed pizza after the match and the whole game was played in great spirits!
