In the classroom

MITS Classroom

Last week as the students started writing graduation speeches, completing the MITS Yearbook articles, sitting tests or completing assignments for each of their subjects in dawned on me that the year is wrapping up.   I am not really sure how a school year can happen so fast but this year has been one of them.

The students are starting to sense that their time at MITS is drawing to a close as they visit their Partner Schools and meet Host Families.  In the background, we are also meeting with Partner Schools to discuss the MITS students that will be joining them in 2020.  I am looking forward to these meeting because it is an opportunity to share with Partner Schools the incredible journey our MITS students have been on and also the progress that have made this year.  In addition, it strengthens the connection we have with Partner Schools as we continue to provide support through the MITS Pathways Program.

In the classroom is has not all been testing and assignments, this has been balanced out with trips to MUMA to see the students artwork on display in the MUMA Gallery, a trip out to Tree Tops Adventure Park to test their fear of heights and this week the students will take part in a St Johns First Aid Course.

There might not be a lot of time left in the school year but we will be sure to cram lots of great activities to send the students off with a 'Bang!'
