Whittlesea Tech School Report

Channpreet was amongst the group students who visited the innovative Whittlesea Tech School facility which is based at Melbourne Polytechnic, Epping to undertake an Inquiry based challenge based on addressing the needs of the local community. Here is a report from Channpreet detailing his recent experience.

"I visited the tech school over three days for an Inquiry challenge and I think it is worth it. The Tech School is all about making our community better for everyone’s benefit. When I went our challenge was based on finding a way to connect with our community due to the many houses and new suburbs being constructed and people are normally in their houses having their noses to a screen. To find a solution to this antisocial problem, everyone had to choose a partner and develop new ideas. Once I chose my partner, we brainstormed loads of ideas and the best one was to create an App where people could contact their friends or they can find out if their friends are nearby and can hang out with them. Most importantly they can make new friends everyday via the App. Many people created new and interesting ideas for the antisocial problem. Tech school is about us students deciding how our community should be like and getting us ready for our bright future. The Tech School is a great experience and every one should go. This experience was mostly good because there was innovative and advanced technology that we could use. The best thing is that I am going there again and it will be a different experience because we will solve another problem that is affecting our peaceful community. Again, the Tech School is a great experience and everyone should have a chance to help out our society."
