Hands on Learning Update

Hands on Learning students were presented with new polo shirts to wear each Friday during the program. These shirts are to help identify the students around the school and give them a uniform to wear with their workwear. Thanks to Mr Hooper for organising these shirts. Students helped raise money to purchase these shirts through selling wood and other projects.

Some great projects are happening within HOL at the moment. Students have completed a bench seat to be used around the school. We are also working on building some chicken houses for a staff member and some outdoor chairs and plant boxes. Students continue to develop their hands on building skills, as well as working on an individual focus plan each week as part of their personal development.

We’ve also had some very generous donations from local businesses to help get our program up and running. As well as funding from Hands on Learning and Beaufort Secondary College itself, we’ve had generous contributions from Epping Timber, Bunnings, Beaufort Op Shop and Skinny Sisters café. Students have personally thanked these businesses and delivered certificates of appreciation.
