Our School Nurse - Karen McBrearty- Thank You

Hi All CHPS families,

Did you know having Karen, our school nurse, working here at CHPS benefits everyone in the school community, not just the kids who get sick or hurt? 

Did you know having Karen….

• saves Megan an hour, our wonderful teachers 20 mins and Di and Nia 45 mins every day! This means your child’s teacher is free to concentrate on teaching and not distracted dealing with sick or injured children
• halves the number of kids sent home early because of injuries and illnesses, meaning fewer interruptions for everyone in the classroom…and fewer parents being called in to collect their kids
• keeps everyone healthier and reduces the number of days of school missed by all kids from illness, but especially kids with chronic illnesses such as asthma and diabetes, so your child (and their teacher) is healthy and in the classroom ready to learn

Every day Karen is here at school ready to tend to knocked heads, scraped knees, queasy tummies, blood noses, split chins, fevers, asthma attacks, broken bones and all the “lurgies” kids come down with.
