Welcome Back from your Student Leaders!

Welcome back! As many of you have seen, the locker bays throughout the school have been decorated with balloons, posters as well as welcome back cards to celebrate our return to school after 8 weeks of online learning. For many students, the transition back to school has been difficult. Instead of waking up at 8:50 am for class, many have now started to wake up at 6-7 am again. Some have found this transition back to face-to-face learning difficult due to unfinished work and catching up on CATs and SACs. In order to make sure that you’re on top of your learning during these difficult times it is important to talk to:

  • Friends
  • Family members
  • Teachers

As part of welcoming back our Year 7-10s students, the Year 11 and 12 student leaders hosted an exciting Amazing Race: the Comeback to allow all students a chance to compete and rediscover our school. It was admirable to see several students from all year levels participating and reconnecting with their peers after the extensive isolation period. The Year 7 team came in first place, followed by the Year 11 and Year 12 teams. Congratulations to our winning team Lyna Be, Jess Whiting, Louise Jean Espino, Lachlan Lay and Aaron Gade.

Inspired by the recent fun Tik Tok dances on the internet, the SRC team decided to organise a Tik Tok Challenge during lunchtime, which got the students moving and dancing. A huge number of students attended and the event was exceptional!

We look forward to putting together more activities for students to enjoy during the second half of the year!
