Tech Games Fest Work Experience
Do you love games, technology and IT? Tech Games Fest at the Chisholm Institute in Frankston is looking for high school students to participate in a work experience program.
You will participate in the setup, help run different activities from tournaments, help with IT support, photography and many other areas. You also get the opportunity to participate in the event.

VTAC Year 10 Guide – 2019
VTAC’s step-by-step guide for year 10 students making subject selections is out now.
It contains lots of information and activities, and will show you how to start the decision making process and set future goals for yourself.
There’s an explanation about the Victorian high school qualifications, tips for researching tertiary (after high school) education options. It also explains the eligibility requirements you’ll need to meet and what course prerequisites you’ll need if you’re planning on pursuing certain pathways.
It’s definitely worth downloading and having a read through, it could really help you get your head in the best possible space for the decision making ahead of you.
You could also check out the Prerequisites for 2021 document. It lists Universities and courses along with the subjects you’ll need to have studied in Years 11 & 12 to apply for entry.
Qantas Group Pilot Academy
Estimates suggest that 790,000 more pilots will be required globally over the next 20 years. To meet this growing demand, Qantas Group will be opening their Pilot Academy in Toowoomba in September.
The Qantas Group Pilot Academy aims to produce industry-ready pilots with a strong focus on safety and quality of training, delivered in an inclusive and supportive environment. Training will be facilitated by Flight Training Adelaide (FTA) with support from the Qantas Group to provide an outstanding student experience.
Qantas will also be offering a scholarship program to make a number of grants available. These range from covering the cost of accommodation through to full training.
If you’re born to fly and serious about a career in aviation, applications for the first intake are now open.
UN Youth | Voice Competition
Voice is a unique public speaking competition for students in Year 7-10, running throughout Terms 3 & 4. Voice invites you to solve issues that affect your community, nation and the world. From homelessness to climate change we want to hear you pitch your big ideas.

- Hone your ability to think on your feet, assisting you in leadership positions or debating competition in the future.

Defence Force FIT Prep Program
For women who are looking to enter the defence force, but require additional support and development with fitness, confidence, and resilience, there is an alternative pathway.
You can apply to join the Female Initial Training Preparation (FIT Prep), which will help get you to the fitness levels required to undertake recruit training. This enlistment pathway has been developed for female candidates over the age of 18, seeking general entry full-time roles.
FIT Prep is a seven week course that guides you through fitness activities and basic army skills, and helps to strengthen your confidence, mental resilience and independence.
It is run at the Army Recruit Training Centre in Kapooka on these upcoming dates:
- 25 Jun – 12 Aug 19
- 23 Jul – 09 Sep 19
- 27 Aug – 14 Oct 19
- 24 Sep – 04 Nov 19
