Melbourne Zoo Excursion

On Tuesday 11th May, the Year 11 Biology students went on an excursion to the Melbourne Zoo. It was fantastic to see so many students take on this opportunity to learn in a different setting. Students participated in a workshop with the zoo teacher and learnt about adaptations, homeostasis and conservation efforts to support the saving of the Southern Corroboree Frog. In the butterfly house, students elaborated on their experimental science skills. They learnt about techniques to capture data on butterfly species and how experimental variables can affect their data values. Students also had the opportunity to explore the other exhibits in the zoo. It was great to see all students being really involved in this learning experience.
