MESEM
Toy Library / Legacy House / Games Competition
The Toy Library's mission is to provide Frankston's diverse community with quality resources that enable learning and development through play and positive engagement. They provide a vast range of special needs resources to children and adults with both learning and sensory delays and disabilities.
They run regular workshops and support groups for, among others, first time mothers, hard of hearing children and families, and offer a community space for local groups. Their programs and resources cater to all levels of the community. Mount Erin students spent an hour helping organise and clean a range of toys and other materials provided by the Toy Library to the community.
Legacy House was a great experience. I enjoyed meeting the widows and chatting to them. I found it to be very humbling and rewarding to have had the opportunity to learn about Legacy House and the community.

On the 5th of May, MESEM Students from Year 8 and 9 went to Legacy House to visit War Widows who lost their partners in War. We spent nearly 2 hours serving food, eating, and talking to war widows about how their lives were, what they've experienced, and what they're up to. Some students also cleaned dishes and dried plates in order to help clean up.

Legacy House was so brilliant. It was a fun experience where I got to meet new people, learn how to make tea and coffee and serve food. I urge anyone who has the opportunity to do it, do it. Everyone who I met was so kind and it was so interesting to learn new things from these people.

I had an amazing time at Legacy House. It was great to socialise with the ladies and I had a great time serving them and playing piano for them. I love MESEM excursions because of the enjoyable bus rides and having fun with my peers.
