Upper Primary Learning

Term 2

Term 2 in Upper Primary has been a challenging one, with remote learning impacting the middle of the term. However the Upper Primary students and staff have shown great resilience to move through this time and come back onsite ready to continue learning.  Thank you to the parents and carers who supported our students during this lockdown , hopefully, we don't have to go through it again this year.

This term Upper Primary have focused on the environment, looking at ways we can reduce, reuse and recycle at home and school.  It has been great to see all classes participating in a language experience each week, including upcycling socks,  planting a courtyard garden and looking at how plastic pollutes the ocean.  These experiences informed the students reading and writing tasks, leading to some wonderful student writing. Four of our classes were able to travel to Edendale Farm on an excursion to learn more about recycling. Unfortunately some classes missed out due to the lockdown but their visit has been rescheduled for Term 3.

Our students and staff continue to show resilience and flexibility, with changes to electives and swimming due to restrictions.  Since coming back after remote learning, all teachers have commented on the student's willingness to try new things and the improvements students have made with their learning.

Thank you and we look forward to new challenges and learnings in Term 3.
