Arlington ART - Peppercorns

Peppercorns
The Peppercorns have been immersed in the process of art making. They have continued to look at the concept of change; how an artwork evolves. Their subject matter for this unit was themselves and they each created a self-portrait that required them to make artistic choices and experiment with materials to achieve their desired outcome. They are also developing the skill of self-evaluation and created an artist’s statement and reflection about their work.
The Peppercorns continued to focus on the concept of change and the idea of art being a process. Exploring the notion that Art can be a form of narrative, the children used the medium of etching and the art element of tone. The purpose was to create an artwork that communicated a story that held some personal meaning.
