Deputy Principal Staff and Students Report

COVID-19 Lockdown Arrangements
Our staff and students have once again done an amazing job adjusting to remote learning. Thank you to all the parents who have also had to step up in their role at home supporting your child in their learning. It has been a blessing to have our Year 11 and 12 students return for face to face classes on campus. We are looking forward to welcoming back the Year 7-10 students on Friday.
With the extension of the lockdown and more online learning from home for our Year 7-10 students, we have introduced the option of virtual counselling with our College Psychologist, Ms Casey Cilia. Students are very welcome to contact Casey via email Casey.Cilia@nazareth.vic.edu.au if they would like some extra support. Casey remains available for face to face sessions for students working on campus.
We continue to postpone our off campus learning and extra-curricular activities in the hope of being able to reschedule soon. As you may be aware the College Production has had to be postponed. The whole school Mass for Social Justice scheduled for 10 June 2021 will also be rescheduled when we know more information regarding changes in restrictions.
Stay in Touch
As this time is challenging for all, we invite you to please stay connected and in touch. If there are any challenges or issues with online learning for your child please let us know via email or telephone. It is our desire to continue to look out for both the learning and wellbeing needs of all students at this time. If there are things happening at home that we should be aware of or could support families with, please contact us at the College. We have had some very positive meetings with parents lately and are reminded of the partnership we are blessed to be a part of, and our desire to strengthen this partnership.
There have been a number of opportunities for parents to meet with Staff via Zoom lately. Please feel free to contact members of staff via email whenever we can support you so we can continue to strengthen our partnership.
End in Sight
As we move towards the end of Term 2 we encourage students at this time to try and do their best to keep working hard to the end of the term. With exams for Year 10 and 11 students this has a clear focus. Our Year 7-9 students are encouraged to complete all set work to the best of their ability and reflect a little on the goals they have set themselves, and how they are progressing as we move towards the end of the term. We also continue to encourage some time at home away from screens to have a break, get up, go outside and enjoy some fresh air.
