Principal's Report
Dear Parents, Guardians, and friends of Nazareth
As we approach the end of term, our students continue to prepare themselves for the end of semester requirements. At this stage, events are continuously monitored to ensure that if planned events go ahead, they will do so in a COVID Safe manner.
I encourage our senior students to continue preparing for exams as they will go ahead. Year 10 Work Experience is all dependent on restrictions in the workplace. The Year 12 Formal will also be dependent on density restrictions within the venue. It is our belief that at this stage, it will go ahead as scheduled.
Our Year 12 jackets were given out this week to all those that ordered one. I congratulate our Year 12s for their leadership and role modelling. They are inspiring young people that are so adaptable and resourceful. I encourage them to continue in this spirit in the coming semester.
I take this opportunity to thank all parents that have facilitated home schooling over the past two weeks. It is difficult but imperative that we continue the learning process in partnership together. Some students thrive at home, especially with the comforts of cooked meals, the occasional sleep in, and their workplace's warmth. Others are missing the social aspect and their fellow students. We are very aware, and our Wellbeing Team will continue to implement strategies to assist those in need.
The tutoring program that the State Government has funded is providing students with the additional help that they require. If your child is struggling, please inform the Pastoral Teacher so that we can assist.
As you are aware the College Musical Production, ‘Grease’ has been postponed. The cast, crew and all involved have been assured that the ‘show will go on’ as soon as practical and when we are able to have crowds, sing and play music. I commend the staff and students for their understanding, and together as a Community, we thank them for the endless hours of practice and preparation. We all patiently await the time when the performance can go ahead.
Please keep in mind those that may be struggling in our Community. Our families at present are donating food bags, care packs, and other items through the ‘Annual Food Appeal’. If you are able, please donate to those in need.
May God continue to bless our Community
Mr Sam Cosentino
