My class was in the first group to go on camp and wow, what an experience – the excitement of staying in a tent overnight, the long nights playing soccer in the dark, the stars at night, the bus rides, the many activities, the thousands of ping pong games – it was too much too handle!

It was a dream school camp – during the day we went for walks, hiking, canoeing, sight-seeing, horse-riding, ten-pin bowling, and to the pool. Every day was a new adventure and excitement was everywhere. It took a while to calm us all down each night and to stop our noisy chatter – but in the end we all fell asleep full of dinner and smiles as big as our faces.

I learnt a lot more than I expected. We visited the Ned Kelly museum and learnt about Ned Kelly's story. We all helped to do the dishes and some of us even learnt to cook! We learnt to horse ride – learning the basics and then walking a trail. Canoeing was new to some of us too – hot, but lots of fun.

The thing I loved the most about camp was what it gave to us. It did give us memories but I've never been in a class that gets along so well. We all got to know each other and we went from quiet talk to non-stop chatter. We laughed together, we played games and all became so much closer. Having camp early in the year was a great idea, we all squirmed at the idea of 'bonding' – but hey, it worked!

The food was great, the staff were super friendly, the camp had lots of open space and the staff had no trouble entertaining us. This camp was definitely a camp to remember.

I don't think there was a time where anyone didn't have a smile on their face. Maybe when we encountered some spiders in our tent – but apart from that there were smiles all around.
