This Week's Updates
Dear Families,
I hope this morning got off to a positive start with your children's Remote Learning and there were not too many mishaps and frustrations. We were frantically trying to log on the Preps and Year Ones who were here so that they could access their whole class meet. I'd say we had a 75% success rate in our lab!
Thank you for your patience, understanding and partnership we share. We are all working towards students learning being enhanced, despite the challenges that Remote Learning throws our way. I know that teachers are sometimes frustrated, when they put a lot of time into preparing lessons and the link does not work to allow students access to the learning activity. We understand the many different home family situations within our St James community and that at times, your children may not be able to complete learning due to a family situation. Please email your child's class teacher to inform them if this happens.
At the moment we can only assume that we will resume on site learning on Friday and will await further announcements later in the week.
I will attach a copy of Friday's letter we sent home here for your reference

P&F News
Hi everyone,
How frustrating is this?!! We guess the best we can do is hope that this is as short lived as possible, relative normality returns quickly and be grateful that we are in a country as safe as ours. Be kind to yourselves, each other, your children and importantly within our school community, our teachers and leadership staff. We are all riding this roller coaster so take care!
SUBWAY FOOD DAY
At this stage we will delay the Subway Food Day until FRIDAY 11th JUNE. While we hope we are back to school this coming Friday many families did not get a chance to hand their orders in on the last day. If your child will not be here on the day orders and payment can be returned to you. Although it may be best to hold off for now in case things change further! We will keep you informed!
DISCO BINGO NIGHT
It is very unfortunate and incredibly frustrating to announce that it is highly unlikely that our much awaited Disco Bingo Parent Night can go ahead next weekend. After much hard work and planning by Junita, Emma, Clementine and ourselves it is doubtful we can have a gathering of that size. This is all after ticket sales were SOLD OUT last Sunday with a waitlist!! Yes SOLD OUT!! Frustrating! While it is not yet official that we have to cancel the plans for this Sat 5th June, we are working very hard at this very moment to find another suitable date. It is very much our intention that this event only be POSTPONED. While our cinema night had to be cancelled as Term 1 is the only suitable time it can be held, there are a lot more potential dates for this event though that will depend on the availability of the caterer and host. At this stage a Saturday in Term 4 may be our only option but we will keep you informed. Whenever it will be it WILL be a great night!
DISCO BINGO SILENT AUCTION - still open and online now!
While the Disco Bingo night may not go ahead next weekend our online auction is still open! All items were fully donated by many generous families and local businesses who are keen to support our school even in these hard times, so every dollar spent by winning bidders will go directly to our school. Please log in, check out the bargains you can bid for and the businesses we encourage you to support.

There are a range of great products and services including a voucher for $1000 worth of dental services, gym class packages, kids activities vouchers, Sonoa sound equipment, football memorabilia, sporting equipment, a hot air balloon ride for 2 and even a wine package should you need to restock your supply after remote learning!
We will continue to accept bids up until our close time of Sunday 6th June at 5pm! Good luck!
Thanks for your understanding and support and stay safe!
