Geelong Schools Cross Country

Monday, 24 May

An enthusiastic and fit NGSC team of Cross Country runners represented the school in a most positive way at this year's Cross Country event. The conditions were near perfect and the officials ran a very well organised event. A big thank you to our team who supported each other all day.

The highlight of the day was a Silver Medal to Ava McMahon-Jones in the 14 Year Girls 3 km. Congratulations on an excellent run. We also have another four runners who have qualified for the Western Metro Region Cross Country on Thursday, 17 June – Dan Bilinski, Faith Qoon, Luke Cazaly and Mitch Cazaly. Our other three runners, Thomas Airey, Ethan Kozina and Jett Peart put in strong efforts but, unfortunately, did not go through to the next level.

Josh Vassallo

Year 9 Coordinator

Year 9/10 Girls and Boys Football and EIS

In Week 3, Mr Vassallo and Mrs Scott took out the Year 9/10 Football teams to compete in the Geelong Inter School sports.

The boys made it to the final but, unfortunately, lost to Surf Coast Secondary College. James Hose played exceptionally well throughout the day.

The girls won all 3 games and made it to the Grand Final. The girls team included some juniors and Year 7 pocket rockets Shae and Kiya Conor were phenomenal at tackling.

All students represented the school well and showed great sportsmanship.

The EIS AFL and soccer recently competed in an inter-school football and soccer match with Northern Bay College. This is a great opportunity for students to practise and develop their skills and also work cohesively as a team and build positive relationships and friendships.
