Senior School News

It has been a hectic finish to term 2 in Senior School. Year 10-12 students have completed their Semester 1 exams. Hopefully most students feel that they have performed well in their exams and have learnt something to help them with the next exam experience. I encourage all students to discuss their preparation and results with their teachers to help them refine their approach to the exams. The Year 10 students did particularly well preparing for their first exam experience straight after 2 weeks of remote learning. It was quite a difficult lead in to exams for all students but in most cases the students coped well and I hope they have taken something away from the experience to help them in the future.

It is also getting closer to the time of the year where students start to look beyond this year. Our Year 12 students attended the Tertiary Information Session event on 18th June. This event is designed to outline the process and dates for applying for University and TAFE courses through VTAC, as well as applying for scholarships that may be available for tertiary studies.  The Year 10 and 11 students will also begin their course counselling process early next term. Information will be provided to students and families outlining this process in the near future.

We would like to wish all students and their families an enjoyable holidays, but also remind students of the importance of completing the work set over the break. In most cases the homework is designed to ensure that students are not going two and a half weeks without thinking about their studies at all. Most of this work is just to keep the information fresh in their minds and will not be excessive in its time commitment.
