Year 9 Myself Program
MyCity Excursion
Last Wednesday, students from Year 9 attended their first excursion for term 2 for MyCity. We began with catching a bus from Doncaster College to Collingwood Station, followed by a train to the Southgate area.
It was a gorgeous day to be out in the sun. We crossed the Yarra River and stopped for morning tea before crossing back along the Princess Bridge. We walked through the arcades in Little Collins street, the students admire the pastries and ceiling architecture.
We boarded the inner-city tram and listened to the historical and interesting facts about different monuments. The students were instructed to take a minimum of 10 photos for their exploration activity and think about planning their group excursions.
We finished the tram ride at Melbourne Central where students had time to get lunch and explore Melbourne Central before boarding a bus back to school.
It was a fantastic day with students actively engaging with their surroundings, behaving respectfully and certainly bringing pride to Doncaster College.
