Library News

The school library is a wonderful hub of learning and discovery where all students are welcome.

 

Other than offering books, computers and resources, the library is a safe space where students are encouraged to think, create and share information with their friends. Respect for other library users and the resources is something we value at our College. 

 

Library opening hours:

  • Monday: 9 am to 4 pm
  • Tuesday: 8:30 am to 4 pm
  • Wednesday: 8:30 am to 4 pm
  • Thursday 9 am to 4 pm
  • Friday 8:30 am to 4 pm
    Open daily before school, at recess and lunch

Borrowing is for a month and is unlimited.  We have an extensive collection with lots of fabulous new fiction and non-fiction books waiting for you to read! Become part of our reading community and have lots of fun chats about literature with us.

 

Book Recommendation:

The Edge of Thirteen

by Nova Weetman (Find me in the Romance section).

A book about school, changing friendships and fitting in. Clem, Ellie and Bridge are best friends. Until, after a Summer apart, Clem feels her friends have changed and she has been left behind.

 

Heroes of the Secret Underground

by Susanne Gervay (Find me in the Fiction History section)

The finding of a rose-gold locket sends three siblings back in time, from modern-day Sydney to World War II era Budapest. There the siblings discover family secrets. This novel is based on the true story of the Author’s grandparents.

 

The True Colour of a Little White Lie

by Gabriel Bermoser (Find me in the Teenage/Growing up section)

A book about the difficulties and humiliations of navigating adolescence. Things are not going well! Nelson’s best friend has moved and Nelson is being targeted by the class bully. He just asked a girl out on a date and she said no and now he has lied about his skiing prowess and has signed up for a ski race that is way too dangerous! Nelson is knee-deep in damage control! A fun read about life, embarrassment and reinvention.
