On the Weekend a new speech and drama competition called ‘Speak Up’ was run. It was organised by ex-KWS student Lucy Kirk in support of the Country Women’s Association and was adjudicated by Robyn Christmas from Sydney. The event was hosted online with entries from throughout the Central West and Western Sydney
Our students did exceptionally well. A huge congratulations to all students involved and our tutors for their guidance.
Last week, 12 of our Year 6 students were fortunate to take part in an online workshop with professional dancer James Deane as part of an initiative run by Sydney Dance Company. Our students spent an hour with James learning various hip hop moves which they worked into a choreographed routine. Many of those involved had not participated in formal dance lessons before.
Despite the online format, the girls were able to successfully follow the instruction and were able to ask questions throughout the workshop. Those involved thoroughly enjoyed the experience and are eagerly looking forward to next week’s class on Theatre Jazz.
