Athletics Training
Athletics training will start on Monday 27 July (week 2) in preparation for the A Division ACC Athletics Carnival on Wednesday 16 September. This year we have increased our training days to Monday, Wednesday and Friday. All students are welcome to attend training.
As always, breakfast vouchers will be handed at the end of each training session.

Interhouse Athletics Carnival
The Interhouse Athletics Carnival is a Special Event Day and all students are required to attend.
- Students should wear full College PE uniform with House shirt and hat. Please be prepared for the elements and stay warm and dry between events.
- No school bags are required. Please bring only a clearly identifiable sports bag.
- The carnival is at the State Athletics Stadium. Students need to make their own way to the venue and arrive no later than 8:15am.
- One bus will depart the College at 8:05am sharp and return at approximately 3:00pm (numbers are limited).
- Only students in Year 12 will be permitted to dress in costume for the entry parade. During events, all competitors must wear appropriate JTC House competition attire.
- Face paint and hair colour is permitted for students in Years 7-11 as well as small House coloured accessories (e.g. hair ties and ribbons etc).
- Only competitors are permitted outside of the bunting. All other students are to remain in the designated area or in the stands.
SCHEDULE
- 8:15am Students seated in Homerooms and attendance taken.
- 8:30am Opening Ceremony – Opening address, Year 12 parade, war cry’s.
- 9:10am Track and Field Events begin – students to follow the program of events. Homeroom staff should assist students with the marshalling of events.
Lunch Students will need to bring their own food/drinks. A large water bottle is advised (canteen facilities will not be available).
- 1:30pm Students seated in Homerooms and attendance taken.
- 1:45pm Year 7-12 4 x 100m Relays
- 2:30pm Closing Ceremony and Principal’s Address
- 3:00pm Dismissal
Winter NAS
All teams have been finalised for our Years 7-10 Winter NAS Season. Given season is running in Term 3 this year the Years 8/9 students will compete on their normal day of Tuesday and our Year 7 and 10 students will play on Wednesday from 4:00-5:00pm from week 4 of this term.
Fixtures will be sent to all students early next week with venues for each game.
ACC NAS Cross-Country Carnival
This year John XXIII College will host the NAS ACC Cross Country Carnival on Friday 21 August from 12:00pm. These results will go towards and ACC Virtual Carnival and the All Stars team.
All of the top competitors from Sacred Heart, Chisholm, Servite and Newman College will travel to the John XXIII grounds to compete against our students. Students that placed in the top six for their year group you have made the ACC Cross Country Team listed below.
All competitors are encouraged to attend the distance sessions at morning Athletics training every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7:00am-8:00am. Training will start from Monday next week.
