Lunchtime Clan Soccer Challenge

The lunchtime Clan Soccer Challenge has been hotting up this week, as teams progress through their round matches into Finals.  With house points up for grabs, Clan groups have been encouraging each other to take part and give it their all.  When the match is underway, the cheering and jeering commences, and the competitive spirit kicks in from not only the players, but students spectating, Clan Teachers and Heads of House.  Some of the soccer skills on display have been outstanding, but so too has the effort and endeavour from students of all skill levels.

Preliminary finals involved a play off between Carmel 5 and Carmel 1 on Wednesday at lunchtime and Carmel 4 and Loreto 3 on Thursday.

The winning teams Carmel 1 and Loreto 3 will play off in the Grand Final tomorrow, the last day of Term Two.

House points to date from participation in the Soccer Challenge are:

Queenborough Classic

In recent weeks, Secondary students have been undertaking a fitness measure in their HPE classes. The activity, known as the Queenborough Classic, is a challenge of how far students can run in 12 minutes.  A scoreboard was maintained across all Secondary HPE classes for students, as a means of encouragement and to recognise those students who really put in a great effort.  Some students did it more than once to improve their results.  The final results are listed below.
