Performing Arts & Music at BPPS

Reminder regarding restrictions

Due to restrictions enforced by the Department of Education and Training, we are unable to sing in large groups at this time which sadly means no choirs for the remainder of the year. Other ensembles are also not running at this time but individual instrumental lessons can continue onsite.  Please check with your instrumental teacher in regards to requirements for lessons for the remainder of this term.

A reminder that continued restrictions on 'blowing' instruments also means that our Grade 3/4 students will not be able to play recorders during Term 4.  We are instead continuing with African Drumming, with the sanitiser being applied before and after use.  Grade 3/4 students can take their recorders home, but at this stage the books will be used later in the term.

In the Performing Arts Classroom...

Foundation - Presenting our indigenous style dance

Grade 1/2 - Recording our Jingles

Grade 3/4 - Writing our own African drumming music

Grade 5/6 - Presenting our Decade Dance in a team

Virtual Carols - Thursday 10 December

This year's carols evening will be held at 7.00pm on Thursday 10 December, but instead of being onsite for the festivities this event will be a virtual celebration.  This event will be in the form of a video (much like our assembly videos) and will include some guest performers and sing-a-long items.

Families will receive a link to the carols evening video in Week 10 and we warmly encourage families to dress up in Christmas themed outfits, to get out the picnic rug and nibbles and take happy snaps of themselves during the event.  These photos can be sent to our Boroondara Park Facebook Page throughout the evening (#BPPSVirtualCarols2020).

We look forward to a fantastic evening of music and celebration!
