JAPANESE DAY 2020 – Friday 27th November

 

Our annual Japanese festival day is coming around quickly! On this day, student participate in a range of workshops and activities to promote their understanding of elements of Japanese language and culture. The timetable is now finalised and activity kits are being put together.

DRESS UP

Come dressed up in a Japanese or Asian inspired costume, or in red and white (Japanese flag colours)! As well as traditional Japanese characters such as Ninja, Geisha, Samurai, Sumo, Pikachu, Hello Kitty, etc., you may like to consider famous Japanese companies such as Nintendo, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Toyota, Honda, etc. for costume inspiration.

 

Please note that it is not a casual dress day, and students who do not wish to dress up come in regular school uniform. 

LUNCH

Students from both campuses will have the opportunity to order YAKISOBA or SUSHI for lunch, which will be supplied from Akita Sushi at DTC. 

  • Sushi is not available on Wednesday 25th November. The regular canteen menu on the Friday is unavailable as students can order a Japanese lunch instead for the Festival day. 

QKR is now open for orders! All orders must be in by 9pm Monday 23rd November.

 

YAKISOBA is actually really YUMMY! It Japanese noodle stir-fry dish. Ours will include chicken and some vegetables. It is available in either a medium tub ($8.50) or small tub ($4.50).

 

SUSHI varieties ($3.00 each) available to order are:

  • California Roll (GF)
  • Crispy Chicken
  • Chicken Teriyaki
  • Salmon and Avocado
  • Cooked Tuna
  • Mixed Vegetable.
