Wellbeing

Words are powerful. They can develop connections, generate understanding, evoke incredible images and touch your emotions. I was delighted that Marnie and Casey shared some of the stunning poetry that the children in the 3/4 classrooms have been creating this term. After reading these poems, I thought WOW, these young writers are very reflective. They were able to write with such intensity about values and dispositions that are so important – dignity, respect, understanding and acceptance.

A space to explore concepts like emotions, and a student’s ability to understand their feelings builds self-awareness and social awareness. The poems that the children wrote created this space and I am sure you will agree that they are rich, not just in words but in the feelings they evoke when you read them.

Thank you Noopoti, Jess, Ian and Tadhg for sharing your poem with us.
