Aboriginal Education
ASC Dancers…
Our Deadly Dancers had the opportunity to show their leadership skills at two dance workshops.
The Bald Blair workshop had students from Bald Blair, Black Mountain, Chandler, and Ben Lomond Public Schools.
The Black Mountain students were taught a dance that they will perform at their presentation day.
Well done to our leaders.
NETBALL…
Alexis Lockwood and Nya Quinlan were selected to attend the 2022 First Nations Netball Talent Camp held at Netball Central, Sydney.
The girls spent the day attending several workshops on skill development and were mentored by various Aboriginal mentors involved in Netball pathways. Congratulations Alexis and Nya.
Big term for our Deadly Dancers. We had 10 students participate in Schools Spectacular, dancing in front of thousands of people at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney.
8 in the Aboriginal Ensemble Madison Collins, Alexis Lockwood, Sophia-Rose Markham, Tayla Martin, Nya Quinlan, Angela Simon, Nahri Slater-Saunders and Tia Slater-Saunders.
2 in the Aboriginal Dance Company Jarryd Cutmore and Jess Ferris.
All had a great time, and we are proud of every one of you. The dancers had opportunity to share this moment with some of the ASC choir and Archie Todd as a member of the technical production crew.
Big thank you to Mrs Drielsma, Ms Pearson, Mrs Richards and Tash for a great week.
