A Season of Change

BY PETER CLIFFE (PRINCIPAL)

As we draw to the end of another school year, it is great to reflect and be thankful for the blessing of God on the school. 2022 has been a season of change at BHCS.

There have been changes in many areas of the school, including a change of Principal!

Change is not always easy, but it is a part of life and schools are pretty used to this.

New students and staff come in, classes rotate, and cohorts move on. Different leadership can bring a fresh perspective and outlook. One change that I have been heavily invested in this year and am very excited about is the transformation of our school play areas in 2023.

Time and time again I have heard people remark and say to me that this is such a caring, peaceful and nurturing environment. People seem to sense it when they first walk in the building. The question is “Why do they sense this?”

This year, I have tried to ascertain, “What is the ‘culture’ or ‘DNA’ of BHCS?”, “What is that special quality you can feel as you walk around the school and interact with our school community?”. As we grow and change, I firmly believe that it is very important to cherish and maintain what I have come to appreciate as the ‘special and unique’ culture of Belgrave Heights Christian School.

Students at BHCS are in a loving and supportive environment, where teachers love them, genuinely care for them, and pray for them. It is the presence of God in this place that is so special, and a big reason why I love being the Principal of BHCS. That is the one thing and most important thing, that I do not want to see change!
