Celebration of the Arts

A few thank-yous

We could not have been happier with how 'No Planet Bee', our 2022 Celebration of the Arts evening went last Thursday.

For those of you there, you would have enjoyed the amazing musical performances, walked around the Art Show and soaked up the atmosphere of such a great community event.

Such a huge event has a large number of people that make it possible and we need to say a massive thank you to all of them.

In no particular order (and apologies for anyone we may have inadvertently missed), THANK-YOU to;

  • Bianca Loiacono for the posters, email banners and sticker designs.
  • Mat Gdanitz for his advice with lighting and for single-handidly filming the whole event
  • Bec Walton for taking beautiful photos during the dress rehearsal and on the evening
  • Steven Kelm (and Kelm Hire)- for providing the fencing for the art show
  • Carolann, Nikita, Anna, Sara, Kanchan and Allyn for setting up the stage
  • Greg Manonian for building a new fence for our stage
  • James Shanahan for his sound contacts
  • Allison Shanahan for organising the bins to make sure the rubbish was sorted correctly and cleaning up the quadrangle
  • Neil for opening and closing the event

  • Spike for providing the sound. So many people have commented about the amazing quality on the night
  • Alana, Priscilla, Pauline, Bec and all of SKiPPA for keeping everyone sustained throughout the night
  • All staff (in particular Joe and Neil) for their support in helping frame, name, and put up artwork. For giving up time in their classes to support students to remember lyrics, dance moves and complex line changes and helping them pre- and post- their performance. And finally for supporting during the lead up to the event, on the night backstage and in the art show.
  • Michelle for all her enthusiasm and collecting money from the stalls
  • The Year 5/6 helpers for supporting the year levels who had never even been to a Celebration of the Arts let alone perform in one and for helping make signs and the tree for the stage and art show
  • The kids for persevering through many hours of rehearsals and bringing all their energy and enthusiasm on the night
  • Our families for taking vague costume briefs and creating amazing and creative outfits for the students to perform in
  • The school community for volunteering on the night, baking cakes, packing up so quickly and being a respectful but enthusiastic audience. We were also overwhelmed with everyone’s kind words about the students’ artwork and acknowledgement (in person and via email) of the hard work that goes into organising a whole school event

Keep an eye out in the newsletter, on Compass and Konnective for information about how you can purchase a copy of the Celebration of the Arts video and professional photos of the evening so you can have a lasting memory of the night.
