Primary School News
Primary School
Dear Primary families,
I am sure you have all heard the news that I will be heading over to Fitzroy High School in 2023. This appointment is for 12 months, it's with a heavy heart that I leave Collingwood College temporarily, however it's such an exciting opportunity. We are blessed at Collingwood College to have such amazing teachers and leadership where opportunities are often shared and experiences turned into interesting career options. I'd like to thank Sam Luck for his mentorship and vision which I believe puts Collingwood College at the forefront.
I'd like to thank all of our wonderful families for the ongoing care and support you provide. The home/school connection is imperative to the inner workings of a positive school environment. The students at Collingwood College have a wide circle of support which includes all of you whether it be on an excursion, a walk to the park, a swimming lesson or camp. Every family here contributes in some way and these gestures of time and action make this a very special place to work.
The students are at the centre of all we do here and I must applaud them for their hard work this year. Academically we have seen a shift upward post covid and we can see that the students are striving to improve. I've really enjoyed watching the students engage in the arts and take on challenges like the school production, for which many of the primary students had a valuable experience. The leadership and contribution to our wonderful Swing into Spring event was outstanding. Our commitment to the student voice is highly evident in every event we produce.
So this is not quite a goodbye, but a farewell for now.
I hope that you all have a safe and wonderful break over summer.
Thank you
