Oatlands, We’ve Got The Moves Better Than Jaggar

It’s hard to believe that we are already in Week 8 of our last school term for 2022 and what a term it’s turning out to be.

Just last week we had our wonderful dance production ‘Oatlands – Let’s Get Loud’. Not only was I super impressed by our wonderful students who danced their hearts out, I was blown away by our parent community; many turned up to watch the performance along with an enormous crowd also viewing via the live stream. 

The buzz in the school over the 2 days was truly wonderful to be a part of. The standout for me was the way our students cheered, clapped and displayed support with fist pumps and high fives for every grade that was up on stage, and I did also love when most of the students, during the dress rehearsal, belted out the chorus to Rick Astley’s song ‘I’m Never Gonna Give You Up’. Got to love an 80s song resurgence. 

We need to say a huge thank you to the PE Team – Mrs James, Mrs Ellis, Mrs Bishop and Tabatha (our dance co ordinator) for their wonderful work not only on performance day but in the lead up prior, to our dedicated staff and students who worked hard practising their dance and putting on an amazing performance.

I was really proud of everyone and feel so lucky to be a part of our great school.

Our 2023 Prep students have completed their Leap Into Learning sessions and what a wonderful time they had each week learning the routines of school and becoming familiar with the surroundings in readiness for next year. We look forward to them being a part of our school community next year.
