Share the Dignity

Hello again, Girton community,

It is once again that time of the year! GCAG is running Share the Dignity’s “It's in the bag” drive. This is a product collection drive that aims to support and empower victims fleeing domestic violence this holiday season, by providing them some comfort and essentials. Products like shampoo, jewellery and oral care are collected and placed in donated bags to be given to victims. 

Bags and jewellery do not have to be new, in fact it is encouraged to search in op shops or cupboards for these goods. This drive, which will run until the end of week 8, is an extremely worthy cause.

To make product collection easier, we have delegated each house a certain type of product to be collected. Boxes will be placed in Reception areas, 65 Wattle, House Tutor rooms and Head of House offices for donations.

The delegations are as follows:

• Aherne: Bags (backpacks, duffel bags, handbags, etc)
• Frew: Period products (pads, tampons, menstrual cups, etc)
• Jenkin: Hygiene items (soap, body wipes, sanitizer, deodorant)
• Jones: Haircare items (shampoo, conditioner, small combs, hair ties, pins, etc)
• Millward: Small gifts and accessories (scarves, jewellery, books, small toys, make up, etc) 
• Riley: Oral hygiene (toothbrush, floss mouthwash, lip balm, toothpaste, etc)
