Catholic Identity

As we near the end of our Churches liturgical calendar, Advent begins on the 27th of November. This coming Sunday is…

The Feast of Christ the King

A ‘Feast day’ is the highest rank of liturgical celebrations. Which means our Church’s cloths won’t be green as in ordinary times, they will be white. The solemnity of Christ the king, emphasises the true kingship of Jesus celebrated on the last day of the Liturgical calendar. It reminds us that while Governments may come and go, Christ is forever. Christ defies our traditional definition of a king. He was fully human, yet also divine. Christ is our King whose real treasure is in those who honour and trust in him.

Prayer

Christ our King,

Enkindle the light in us,

Let Jesus be in our mind and guide us to loving actions.

Let Jesus be in our hearts as instruments of trusting in him.

Help us to live life to the full and bring hope to others.

Inspire us in truth to live out our faith,

His Kingdom will have no end,

Amen

Thank you Christine.

At Mass last Saturday night, we said thankyou to Christine Sebire for her service to our parish over the last nine years. Christine is moving on from her role as Pastoral Associate and as a parish, and as a school community we are very grateful for her advice, support and guidance over the years, in all aspects of faith. Christine stills plans on being an active member of our parish, of which we are very happy to hear!

Advent Celebrations

On Friday 25th November, we will gather as a school community to begin the season of Advent. Please join us at 12.30pm in the Brigidine Centre. We look forward to celebrating Mass with our Foundation students leading this special gathering.
