Mrs Ryan's Fortnightly Reflections

What a busy 2 weeks we have had, settling into learning and routines at St Mary’s.

It is hard to believe we are approaching Week 8 of Term 4, meaning Transition Day for 2023 is fast approaching. Teachers and leaders are currently working towards creating the classes for 2023 with careful consideration of students learning, social, emotional and physical needs. We thank you for your support in this process and trusting us to place your students in the very capable hands of all of our teachers. We are privileged to have such experienced and supportive professional learning communities across the school. Our Transition morning will be held on the 6th of December. All students will meet their 2023 teachers and classes. We wish our Year 6’s well who will spend the day at their new school.

The mozzies are nasty! We appreciate that students and families are being bitten by mosquitos, as this is an increasing problem in our community.

We encourage families to please spray and send students with insect repellent. We are unable to spray students due to allergies but encourage families to send students with their own.

Our 2023 foundation students have recently completed their second transition. It’s wonderful to see such bright and smiling faces. These transition sessions will continue to occur every Tuesday before the whole school 2023 transition day on the 6th of December.

We have had a busy few weeks of sport, organised by Jordy Hay, including year 1 swimming, AFL football clinic, team tennis for our year 6’s and regional and state basketball. Congratulations to all involved, and thank you to Jordy and those involved, who do an amazing job in organising!

It was wonderful to celebrate the Foundation Fairytale Celebration today with our Foundation community. What a wonderful way to commence their Design Investigation Unit. Thank you, families, for the effort and involvement.

Next Monday, we welcome students from across the diocese to the Just Leadership Day held in our Brigidine Centre. 16 year 5’s will take place in the leadership day, a wonderful opportunity for our students facilitated by Catholic Education Sandhurst.

Lastly, we welcome families to our final regular whole school assembly next Tuesday, 22nd November. We will, of course, finish the term with TERRIFIC kid assembly on the last day of Term, Wednesday 14th December. We look forward to gathering as a community and celebrating what has been a fantastic school year.
