Anchorage House News

Term Four, how did the year go by so quickly? The Anchorage boys have enjoyed being active to start the term. They have made small bike jumps out the back of the house and have designed a game of cricket especially for the rec shed. If the Albany sun would start to shine, we could get them playing cricket outside. Fingers crossed the sun starts to shine soon as the boys love enjoying the great spaces that the school has to offer.

We are enjoying Sunday night dinners with Eclipse. This has been a great way for our Year Nines to get ready for their move to Eclipse after the Closed Weekend. We will miss the Year Nines. Austin has been an amazing and capable leader in the house, Tom is a friendly and welcoming presence, Ryan is a quiet and calm influence over the younger boys and Darcy is ever keen on keeping his peers on the move and encouraging them to play a game outdoors.

We welcome Miss Zoe Kerr to supervising in Anchorage, please see her bio in the HOBH section. Zoe supervises every Tuesday night and every second Friday night and is a welcome addition to the staff team.

Anchorage Recreation

The Anchorage boarders continue to drive their own recreation by advising the supervisor as to what they would like to do on the weekends. They can't seem to get enough of fishing, enjoy a drive to any location in Albany and even a trip to the beach on a cold day can also make them smile.  Basketball at Eyre Park is definitely on the list of things they enjoy, and our supervisors love taking them.

Basketball

The basketball ring has been repaired and the boys are excited to have it return. There is a clue in the photos as to how the ring was snapped off in the first instance. Many hours are spent using the basketball ring and we always like to encourage them to burn off energy outside.

Riley

We welcome Riley to Anchorage House. He stays one night every week and loves boarding. Riley is kind, thoughtful and a friendly addition to the Anchorage family.

Birthdays

Happy Birthday to Ronald Williams who celebrated his birthday in the holidays.  We have also had Archie Atkinson and Matt Cant celebrate their special days so far this term. Many happy returns boys.
