SAPSASA Girls Cricket

On Wednesday of week 2, the SAPSASA Girls Cricket Team competed in their first game of the knockout competition at Greenwith Oval. It was a tough game against Highgate Primary School, as they were very experienced and had some very good players who already play cricket.

We worked very hard and used everything we had learnt at our training to take the win. We batted first and made 5/117, and then they only made 6/79 when we bowled.

Thank you to Mr Smith and Brayden for making the game and for their teamwork, we wouldn't have been able to do it without you! Also, thank you to all of the parents and students who came out and watched our game.

On Thursday of week 5, the SAPSASA Girls Cricket team played their next game in the knockout competition at Adelaide Lutheran Sports Club against Concordia College. It was the semi-final, and in order to get to the grand final, we had to win.

We were all very nervous before the game started, but we were also very keen to start playing the game. They had some very good bowlers and batters, which meant it was a tough game. We batted first and made 3/95 from our 20 overs. At half time of their innings batting, they were in a stronger position than we were at the same time. At that point, we knew we had to step up our game, so we could win.

In the end, we ended up winning 3/95 to 7/86. We would like to say a big thank you to Mr Smith and Brayden for making this happen, Mahlee (Vice Captain) and also Laura, for helping with transport, and all of the parents and families for coming.

Let's hope we can win the Grand Final!

Thank you Coaches

At Greenwith Primary School we have many opportunities to participate in SAPSASA and sports, and we are very lucky. It takes a team of people to make this happen.

I would like to thank the parents who have supported us with a very big thank you to those who have taken the time to undertake the volunteer training and then rearranged their days to attend carnivals, taking teams and providing transport. This year we sent home small gifts to these parents to say thank you.

Thank you to our Leadership team and SSOs who work behind the scenes and our class teachers who have been supportive in making adjustments to accommodate students attending carnivals.

Thank you to our teachers who have taken on the role of coach this year:

Mrs Michael: girls and boys soccer

Miss Teagan: girls netball

Miss Trotter: girls netball

Ms Schina: boys netball

Brayden: girls and boys tag rugby, girls and boys basketball, girls and boys cricket, boys football

Mr Smith: girls and boys cricket, girls football

Thank you so much for your support this year!
