Covid-19 Update

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

The Education Department now expect all public school students who are well and not considered vulnerable to Covid-19 to attend school or preschool.

Students are required to attend unless they:

  • Feel unwell. Please exercise caution and keep your child home if they show any signs of being unwell.
  • Have a chronic medical condition or compromised immune system and have been advised by their DP to remain absent from school.
  • Live in a household with others who are deemed at risk or vulnerable and have been advised by their GP to remain absent from school
  • Have been diagnosed with Covid-19 or have been required by SA Health to self isolate

If you intend to keep your child at home as a result of the medical advice from your GP please contact the Front Office to discuss your situation so that we may continue to support you.

To maintain the strong position in South Australia in regards to Covid-19 we will continue to follow Departmental guidelines, namely:

Physical distancing at school drop-off and pick up

We ask that parents/carers follow social distancing guidelines (1.5 spacing) when dropping off when picking up their children at the gate or classroom. Children leaving school grounds promptly at the end of the day is appreciated.

Volunteers

Unfortunately our volunteer programs remain inactive until further notice.

Outside support providers

We have recommended the provision of support from Departmental services and some outside agencies. We will continue to keep the school community informed of when non-departmental providers are  permitted on site.

School camps and excursions

SA Health consider excursions outside of school grounds to be an unnecessary risk, due to the logistics of managing additional risks associated with adult volunteers for supervision and external transport provision, and so they are currently postponed.

School Sport

PE Is part of the school curriculum and so the restrictions of 10 in a group do not apply. Further information regarding the recommencement of extra-curricular school sport will be provided once SA healthier have updated guidelines.

Additional cleaning

We will continue to implement daily additional cleaning of classrooms, common areas, handrails, high touch surfaces and the playground.

In the case of a confirmed case of Covid-19 in our school community our school will be closed and we will follow SA Health and Department Of Education protocols.

We appreciated the support of our school community in managing the changing situation so far. It is essential that we continue to follow guidelines and current restrictions in order to keep everyone safe.
