Principal's Report

Acting Senior Education and Innovation Leader (SEIL)

I am writing this article from the Regional Office of the Department of Education as I have been appointed to the Acting SEIL position for a fortnight commencing 5th of August.  It is a very different role to being a Principal of a school as I have twenty-nine schools to “look after”.  This week I have been privileged to visit many primary and secondary schools in the Monash Manningham Network and sit in on leadership meetings, plan for school reviews, monitor schools’ Annual Implementation Plans and Principals Performance Plans.  I have learnt so much from my colleagues, seeing firsthand what works in lifting student learning outcomes across a range of different settings.  I have also found it very rewarding to support principals and their teams in building their leadership and school improvement capacity.

I’d like to acknowledge and thank the Assistant Principals and Business Managers for their leadership of our school in my absence.
