Parents & Friends News

Dear all,

Last Saturday the P&F along with a whole army of volunteers held a Democracy Sausage Sizzle. It was a long and warm day. We were very busy serving sausages and egg and bacon muffins from the BBQ as well as all the lovely cakes and baked good we received from our school community. I would love to say a huge thank you to all of the parents, grandparents, teachers and kids that baked for us or prepared other sweet treats. There were so many of you who donated and we are so grateful. There are simply too many of you to thank individually so please know we really appreciate every single one of you.

On the sausage front we have some big donors to thank. We received 14 boxes of sausages from Coles Prahran (Chapel Street), 3 boxes from Woolworths Prahran, a $100 voucher from Woolworths in Vogue Plaza (670 Chapel Street) and a $50 voucher from Coles Malvern (Glenferrie Road). Our coffee people - THE ANGRY MUG, who were serving the coffee all day also donated $50 to our school. A huge huge thanks goes to all our volunteers on the day! Our Principal Cathy and her husband Chris were on site with me from after 6am until we finished at 5pm and then stayed even after that to do some cleaning. It was a long day!

Louisa helped me secure all our donations from the shops and prepare everything to have the day running smoothly. She was also there on the day serving cakes to our voters. Thank you to our volunteers: Liz, Amy, Angela, Charmaine, Emilio, Emilia, Karen, Adrian, Lynn, Danny, Diana, Kirrily, Cath, Colm, Jenny, Dinah, Jasmin, Jo and Colin. The stall wouldn’t be a success without you all!

Now last but not least, thank you to all of you who came to buy a sausage, cake or egg and bacon muffin- together we raised over a whooping $4400! That’s even more than the one earlier this year! What an effort!

I am so proud!  All the money will go towards our garden works and green areas around the school grounds.

As this is the last update from the P&F I would like to thank everyone I worked with in the P&F, I really enjoyed raising money for school and organizing fun things for kids and the community. My aim was to build the community back again, and bring it closer together while raising as much as possible for the school. I think I achieved that with the help of all of you. We had an incredible year of fundraising, smashing goals and outreaching our targets. We have never been this successful in raising money and the credit goes to all our community. I’ll be busy taking care of my new baby next year but I’m looking forward to seeing what incredible things will be done here.

Take care everyone!
