It has been another fulfilling fortnight in the senior school with our amazing students working so hard a cross all curriculum areas in school but also getting involved in all our extra curricular activities with our graduation event and transition in full swing and our leadership program coming to it's conclusion. The end of the school year is always a very busy time of year but we would like to applaud our students for keeping it together as we fit in all the busy activities as the school year comes to an end. We look forward to all the great gatherings we have coming up before the end of the year.
Leadership
This term the Year 5s have been working on their leadership videos for the chance to earn a school captaincy role and other leader. There are 9 roles to choose from, and each student is to pick 1 or more to go for. They had to write and record at school during their leadership block. The teachers allowed the students to edit and upload the videos at home. All the 3's, 4’s and 5’s watched videos and voted for the top 3 students they thought would be a good school captain. Only the top 10 students that went for school captain got an interview with Mr. Collis and Mrs Pennington. The students that didn't get an interview still have a chance at getting the other roles they went for. If the students don't get a role they get put in a group with other people to support the students who got the role.
We would like to thank the teachers who helped out with this lesson and to all the students who did it even though it can be hard for some kids to get out of their comfort zone.

Year 6 Transition & Graduation
Our Yr. 6 have been working really hard on their graduation ceremony working hard on the special things we have in store to celebrate their special night. We have been super impressed with the behaviour of our senior students as they head towards the end of year. They continue to be fantastic role models for the rest of the school. We look forward to the amazing Anna Box coming in next week to finish our transition work and take a more professional and closer look out our Hero's Journey work that we have been using for our transition work.
Hoop Time
On the 22nd of November the All-Star girls basketball team competed in the state Hoop Time tournament. They have been our most successful girls team at Scared Heart. They won 4/6 games throughout the whole day, which was an amazing achievement. They ended up coming 2rd in their pool and making it into the State finals. They then made it all the way to quarter finals where they only lost by 6 points. They did an incredible job the whole way. Throughout the day the team did a great job representing their school and always having a smile on their faces.
We would like to give a big thank you to Mr.T for organizing HoopTime and letting them compete in this awesome competition and also for his great scoring and support throughout the day.
Another big thank you to Tim Hilton for coaching and taking up his time throughout the day to come and coach.
Thank to all the parents and siblings that came along the way and showed support to them throughout the whole day.
Great work to our All Star girls teams!!!!

Mathematics
The students have been working on measurement and geometry lessons looking at triangles and the different angles that make they have continued with our revision sessions as we head to the end of our school year. We have been doing revision to prepare for high school and grade 6 which they have been working hard on. We will continue to do revision as we come to the end of our school year with a focus on problem solving and quick maths skills in timetables and division facts.
Gaelic Football
On the 18th of November some of the 5/6s went to Beaumaris Reserve to play Gaelic Football against Stella Maris. There were three teams and their names were Clare, Galway and Mayo. The scores were fantastic and all the teams did very well. The girls did great, especially Derry who managed top spot on the ladder. Galway finished 2nd which was the highest standing Sacred Heart Boys team. Everyone who participated on the day had great fun. In the exhibition match at the end of the day all of our best players were put into one team to play against Stella Maris’s best team. We played our best and ended up winning overall.
